At the heart of my work is the belief that support should be provided in a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space. I build collaborative relationships with families, creating an environment where questions are welcomed and each child’s unique strengths are recognized and nurtured.

In addition to assessment work, I support adolescents and adults through challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, addiction, self-esteem, and the impact of trauma. My approach is both evidence-based and deeply human: while I draw on proven therapy methods, I always keep each person’s lived experience at the center of the process.

Whether you are seeking answers through an assessment or looking for therapy support, my role is to guide and support you and your child with clarity, care, and practical direction every step of the way.

I was born and raised in Calgary where I met my husband, who happened to grow up only a few communities away. I am a mother of one boy, who is the absolute best, most adorable little human! In my spare time I enjoy taking my fur baby to the dog park, visiting wit friends and family and reading. I love travelling, my husband is the planner of all of our trips and always includes fun (sometimes scary) new adventures like bungee jumping, scuba diving or zobing!

Counselling Therapist- Children, Youth, Families & Couples

My practice is grounded in the belief that every person deserves a safe, supportive space to explore their inner world and reconnect with the people who matter most. Dependant on the needs of the individual, I integrate a variety of therapeutic techniques in practice, including Attachment, Strength and Trauma Based approaches, Play Therapy techniques, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Family Systems, and Gottman to create a personalized path to healing that honours each client’s unique journey. My speciality is in helping individuals find their place within their “village”- the supportive networks that nurture personal growth, resilience, and healing. I am guided by the principle that true well-being emerges from meaningful relationships and believe working collaboratively with clients will guide them to foster deep, authentic connections with themselves and others. Beyond the therapy room, you’ll find me relishing in my roles as a mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend, cheering from the basketball court sidelines, on family bike rides, or out camping!

Accepting clients Mid July: Children & Youth Counselling Therapist & Registered Psychiatric Nurse

Payden spent her formative years in Central Alberta, working with children and youth via mentorship, drop in centres, summer camps, and sports camps. She moved to Calgary in 2021 to put her Psychiatric Nursing degree to work in Adolescent Psychiatry, Eating Disorder Care, and Psychiatric Emergency Services. In those contexts she was enthusiastic about leading small group discussions and teaching, but her passion has always been working one to one with others, helping them feel heard and empowered to reach their goals.

When she’s not on the clock, she loves snuggling her daughter, playing volleyball, going on family walks, and being silly with her husband. She has a puppy named “Gus” who is equally cute and mischievous. Some of her favourites are: Ice Caps, The Emperors New Groove, Survivor, and river floats!
